Inspired by the gravity defying beauty of 4c hair and the over-itedness of Black women, Stop the Foolery features a Black woman painted with acrylic in a black and white color pallet on an abstract pastel background. The crowning glory is the actual hair pick stuck in her hair.
The piece was created on a sheet of cardboard mounted on 1-inch canvas stretchers with their edges raw and exposed and sealed with resin.
